// the /tokenize-business skill · a working method for humans & machines

the mint

Strike a business's words into claims a future agent can spend — and bank the craft, not just the coins. Every run produces two outputs: the claims, and the lesson.

a mint-master's ledger — the craft above the press SKILL

// description

A mint is not a press. The press is the machine — it stamps whatever it is fed. The mint is the institution around it: the craft that knows which metal to accept, what weight makes a coin honest, and whose die to trust. Presses are replaceable. The craft is the asset. /tokenize-business is that craft, for a particular kind of minting: melting a business's words — mail, meetings, decisions — into claims: atomic, dated, source-anchored statements that any future agent can spend.

It runs nothing and stamps nothing — it is not the press. It is two files: a method read before every run, and an append-only ledger extended after. The same pair teaches a person and loads into a machine — which is the whole point of this shelf.

Beats 03–04 belong to the machine; everything before and after is the craft. A run that enters nothing in the ledger wasted half its output.

// the calibrations · decided before the first strike

01 TIER BY VALUE — STRIKE THE OWNER'S WORDS FIRST Not all metal is equal. Sent mail — the owner's own commitments, decisions, positions — is the densest ore in the store. Strike it first; let the long tail wait.
02 ROUTE BEFORE THE FIRST STRIKE Decide the corpus root and its clearance before extraction begins, not after. Confidential never folds into a lower-tier store — and a working mailbox will prove the need on the first draw.
03 PICK THE PATH, THEN THE MODEL Per-token billing and flat-rate give opposite answers. Where tokens cost money, the cheapest die that passes the bench wins; where they don't, capability is free lift — spend it.
04 SCOPE THE DETERMINISM A replaying daemon must strike the same coin twice; a one-shot backfill never re-strikes. Don't let the daemon's requirements distort a run-once decision.
05 ISOLATE THE QUOTA Flat-rate isn't free — heavy runs spend the same capacity the live automation breathes. Big mints get their own account, or the day-job starves.
06 BUDGET THE CALENDAR, NOT THE BILL At corpus scale the binding constraint is wall-clock, metered weekly. Parallelism bursts, then throttles. Plan value-ordered tiers so worth lands early, however long the tail runs.

// from the ledger · four entries, names filed off

L-001 THE MODEL FLIPS WITH THE PATH "The cheapest model that passes the bench" is only wisdom where tokens cost money. On a flat-rate path the marginal cost of capability is zero, and the entire argument for the small model evaporates. A default carried across that line is a bug wearing the clothes of a decision.
L-002 FAITHFULNESS IS CODE-GATED; JUDGEMENT IS MODEL-GATED No model, however small, can counterfeit a quote — the gate rejects any claim that cannot cite its verbatim source. What capability buys is judgement: the right verb, the resolved pronoun, the implicit commitment caught. On a corpus that will be queried forever, judgement compounds.
L-006 SENSITIVITY SHOWED UP ON DRAW ONE The very first message the pilot sampled was among the most sensitive in the store. You do not get to defer classification "until you see what's in there." The corpus root and its clearance are decided before the first strike.
L-008 AT SCALE, THE PRICE IS THE CALENDAR Quality chosen and cost at zero, the binding constraint became wall-clock — capability metered by the week. The fix isn't a faster press; it's value-ordered tiers, so the owner's own words are banked in days while the tail takes its season.

// the guardrails · how a coin stays honest

The machine proposes; the daemon disposes — identity, time, dedup, and lineage are owned by deterministic code, never by a model's mood. No quote, no claim — a statement that cannot cite its verbatim source is not struck. The ledger is append-only — entries are corrected by newer entries, never edited. And every coin is stamped with the die that struck it, so a better die can re-strike the same metal and the difference is a diff, not a mystery.

// companions · the set

/C
/com-center
Opens the working day: queue → dispatch → relay. The com center runs the work; the mint is one of the things worth running.
/A
/andcut
Closes the scene: capture the take, reset the set. What /andcut saves for one session, the mint's ledger banks for a whole line of work.

"The press does the striking. The ledger does the learning. Run a mint long enough and the coins become the lesser asset."
